Modellierung der Entwicklung des Fichtenborkenkäfers, Ips typographus L. als Grundlage einer umfassenden Risikoanalyse
[Modelling the development of the spruce bark beetle Ips typographus (L.) (Col.; Scol.)]
Mitteilungen der deutschen Gesellschaft für allgemeine und angewandte Entomologie 14, 277-288
Abstract: In view of the rising threat of forest damages caused by bark beetles a model was designed in order to monitor generation development of Ips typographus, draw future scenarios or analyse outbreaks retrospectively. The model demands precise knowledge about relationships between micro-climatic conditions in the terrain and development rate of the organism, but also a more comprehensive analysis of population ecology. Important input parameters are the onset of spring flight, voltinism of the studied population, start and number of sister broods. The developmental model may be combined with other assessment systems, which allows for a range of applications, such as the indication of risk zones in managed forests or protected areas.
