Mesoclanis magnipalpis (weed bioagent) (Bezzi, 1920)
This seed fly is found in southern Africa and is being studied as a possible biological control agent of the invasive shrub Chrysanthemoides monilifera (bitoubush or boneseed) which has spread from southern Africa to Australia and parts of the Pacific. M. magnipalpis has been recorded to breed on several subspecies of C. monilifera.
