Maiestas Edwards, 1922
This genus of leafhoppers is found in Asia, the Pacific and parts of Africa. It includes more than 50 species. Some of them are regarded as agricultural pests, above all the zigzag leafhopper, Maiestas dorsalis (previously Recilia dorsalis), a vector of several rice diseases in Asia.
Most species of Maiestas have been previously classsified under the genus Recilia which has been now reduced to the type species of Recilia (R. coronifer) from Europe plus one other species, see Webb & Viraktamath (2009).
