Macrotermes gilvus (Hagen, 1858)
This mound-building and fungus-growing termite is found in south-eastern Asia. It infests crops and wood products, including wooden posts and fences as well as any wood in contact with the ground. It is larger than other termites like Coptotermes gestroi and will compete with and attack these species when they are encountered in wood.
