Macroptilium lathyroides (weed) (L.) Urb. - (wild bushbean, phasey bean)
This plant is a leguminous herb, native to tropical parts of the Americas. It has been introduced as a pasture legume into other regions, but is invasive in some areas and has become an environmental and agricultural weed in several countries. For example, it is an introduced environmental weed in some northern and eastern parts of Australia.
Phasey bean is a perennial woody herb which typically grows to a height of around 50 cm. The pea-like flowers are bright red or purplish-red.
