Macroptilium atropurpureum (weed) (Moc. & Sessé ex DC.) Urb. - (purple bushbean, siratro)

This plant is a leguminous herb, native to tropical parts of the Americas. It has been introduced as a forage crop to various tropical regions around the world, but has become invasive in some countries. For example, it is an environmental weed in parts of Australia, where it can form dense stands and overgrow native vegetation. M. atropurpureum is a vine with a stem length of up to 2 m and purple flowers.
