Lutzomyia wellcomei (Fraiha H., Shaw J. J., Lainson R., 1971)
This species of sand fly is found in some parts of South America, especially during months of high rainfall. It is anthropophilic and a vector of Leishmania braziliensis, the main cause of American tegumentary leishmaniasis.
