Lutzomyia vexator (Coquillett, 1907)
This mosquito is widespread in North America. It has been recorded as feeding on reptiles. However, it was also found in New York to be common around dog kennels and was suspected to be involved in the transmission of canine leishmaniasis (Ostfeld et al. 2004).
