Loxostege Hübner, 1825

This genus of webworms contains around 100 species which are found mainly in the northern hemisphere. Several species are pests, in particular the beet webworm which causes cyclic outbreaks and infests various crops and grasslands. Outbreaks can be caused by mass migrations.
