Lipaphis erysimi (Kaltenbach, 1843) - (turnip aphid)

The aphid is an important pest of brassicas and other cruciferous crops. It is found in Australia, Asia, parts of Europe and North America and can transmit a number of plant viruses like Cucumber mosaic virus and Potato virus Y. Some resistant turnip cultivars have been developed to reduce its economic impact. The adult is greenish-yellow-grey, with olive-coloured stripes and spots.
