Lasius neglectus van Loon, Boomsma & Andrasfalvy
The ant is a pest of gardens and parks in Europe. It is native to Asia and was first reported in Hungary in 1974. During the 1990s, populations expanded and the ant established supercolonies in many parts of Europe, covering large areas. These disrupt the ecology, promotes large aphid colonies by protecting them and are considered a nuisance in urban areas. However, around and after 2010, expansions seemed to have stopped and reversed in parts of Europe.
