Lamium (weeds) L. - (deadnettles)

This genus contains around 50 species of herbaceous plants. Some are cultivated, but several are important agricultural weeds like henbit, Lamium amplexicaule, or purple deadnettle, L. purpureum.

Deadnettles are not related to the stinging nettles, but in some species the leaves are similar. The flowers are white, pink, purple or yellow and have other morphological characters which distinguish the genus from related genera.


Currently, the following species have been entered into the system:
