Ixodes sinensis Teng, 1977
This tick is found in eastern Asia. It has been shown to carry the Lyme disease agent, Borrelia burgdorferi, related Borrelia species and Rickettsia monacensis (e.g. Ye et al., 2014). The species closely resembles Ixodes ricinus in morphology and biology.
