Ixodes affinis Neumann, 1899
This tick is found in North and Central America. Immature stages have been recorded from small mammals and birds. Adult ticks feed on larger mammals like deer, but are not known to bite humans. I. affinis can transmit Borrelia burgdorferi and can contribute to the maintenance of the Lyme disease agent in the environment.
