Ipomoea quamoclit L. - (cypressvine)
This species of morning-glory is believed to be native to Central America. It is now widely distributed in tropical regions around the world, and often grown as an ornamental. I. quamoclit is an environmental weed in some areas and an agricultural weed in others, affecting crops like sugarcane (e.g. see Correia et al., 2013). The plant has unusual feathery leaves and elongated, bright red flowers.
