Ipomoea nil (L.) Roth - (white-edge morning-glory, Japanese morning-glory)
This plant might have its origin in tropical parts of the Americas, but it has been already described from Japan during the 12th century. It is now widely distributed in tropical and some subtropical regions, and often grown as an ornamental.
I. nil can be an agricultural weed, affecting crops like sugarcane (e.g. Correia, 2016). The wild growing forms are characterised, among others, by the flowers having a white throat.
