Indigofera hirsuta (weed) L. - (hairy indigo, roughhairy indigo)

This leguminous plant is found in tropical and subtropical countries, and is introduced and naturalized in some regions like Central America. It is regarded as an agricultural weed in several countries, affecting for example groundnuts or vegetables and overgrowing these crops.

The plant is an annual small shrub, which grows to a height of about 1½ m. The stems, leaves and pods are hairy and the flowers are pink. The straight pods are 1-2 cm long.
