Hylobius pinastri (Gyllenhaal, 1813) - (lesser pine weevil)
The weevil attacks pine and spruce trees in Europe. It is mainly found in Scandinavian countries, but is less abundant compared to the large pine weevil, Hylobius abietis. Its biology is similar to H. abietis and attacks can kill seedlings.
