Hemiberlesia palmae (Cockerell, 1893) - (tropical palm scale)
This species of armoured scales is widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions. Infested crops include fruit trees, bananas, palms and other crops like cassava or cacao. The scale cover has a diameter of around 2 mm.
