Globodera ellingtonae Handoo et al., 2012
This potato cyst nematode has been first found infesting potatoes in Oregon and Idaho, U.S.A, and might have a South American origin (Handoo et al., 2012). The host range appears to be limited to several plants from the genus Solanum, with potatoes and tomatoes being the main hosts (Peetz et al., 2019). G. ellingtonae is closely related to Globodera rostochiensis and G. pallida. The distinguishing features include, among others, the morphology of the cysts, the number of cuticular ridges between vulva and anus, as well as the DNA structure.
