Garlic virus X (GarV-X)
This virus is widely distributed and causes an economically important disease of garlic. The symptoms include stripes of yellow mosaic and distorted leaves. GarV-X contains a single-stranded positive-sense RNA that encodes six open reading frames (ORFs). The encode proteins for viral replication (ORF1), coat protein (ORF5), a silencing suppressor (ORF6), as well as triple-gene block proteins (ORF2 + ORF3).
