Remarks 1. Promote sustainable land, water, and native vegetation through development and optimisation of pest control strategies through informed decision-making processes.
2. Promote agricultural development through integrated management of invasive weeds.
3. Promote agricultural development of primary industries and weed science education.
4. Promote plant diversity and vegetation restoration affected by rangeland and industrial activities.
5. Design, conduct and analyse rangeland field experiments to determine effective management methods of invasive woody weeds such as rubber vine,bellyache bush and Captain Cook tree.
6. Prepare technical and scientific papers for publication in journals and other Professional Leader and Rural Lands Protection Board.
7. Liaise with scientific institutions, State and Federal Government Departments, and major client groups, including northern Queensland rural industries and communities, regarding pest plant control activities and research.
8. Co-ordinate and prioritise the activities of staff assigned to the research project to ensure predetermined performance standards are completed in a timely, appropriate and efficient manner.
9. Ensure that the workplace is free of discrimination and harassment, staff are treated fairly and equitably and that a safe and healthy work environment is maintained as well as all possible action is taken to prevent unsafe work practices from occurring.
