Fabavirus gentianae

Assigned virus:
gentian mosaic virus (GeMV)

The gentian mosaic virus has been described from Japan (Kobayashi et al., 2005) where it was found to infect Gentiana scabra plants, causing mosaic symptoms. After artificial inoculation, it has been shown to also infect and produce symptoms on Nicotiana benthamiana.

The virus 'Mikania micrantha wilt virus' is regarded as another isolate of GeMV (Wang et al., 2008).
