Hymenopteran pupal parasites recovered from house fly and stable fly (Diptera: Muscidae) pupae collected on livestock and poultry facilities in northern and central Hungary
Environmental Entomology 23 (3), 778-781
Abstract: The first field survey, noting the occurrence and diversity of filth fly pupal parasite fauna in Hungary, was done on beef and dairy feedlots, and swine and poultry farms in the northern and central parts of the country. Musca domestica L. and Stomoxys calcitrans (L.) were the two major filth fly hosts. Four species of Spalangia recovered, in decreasing order of abundance, were S. cameroni Perkins, S. endius Walker, S. nigroaenea Curtis, and S. nigra Latrielle. S. endius, Muscidifurax raptor Cirault and Sanders, two apparently undescribed Trichopria spp. and one apparently undescribed Coptera sp. are believed to be new country records.
