Preference of Popillia japonica larvae to five baits in the laboratory
Environmental Entomology 10 (3), 386-387
Abstract: Food preference of Popillia japonica Newman larvae was tested in the laboratory. Five baits consisting of corn, wheat, wheat-corn mixture, sunflower, and fescue seeds, were evaluated. Results show that P. japonica oriented significantly more to the wheat and wheat-corn seed baits (P < 0.01) than to the others. Corn was also significantly more attractive to the larvae than were the other baits.
