The distribution of mosquitoes (Diptera, Culicidae) in the Republic of Azerbaijan

Abstract: The mosquito fauna in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan comprises 24 species from 7 genera. The dominant species are Anopheles sacharovi, Culex pipiens, Aedes caspius, and Ae. geniculatus in the forest area, and Coquillettidia richiardii in the lowlands, where there are swamps overgrown with reeds.
