Dolichogenidea tasmanica (parasitoid) (Cameron, 1912)
This wasp is a solitary endoparasitoid of several tortricid larvae. For example, it is an important parasitoid of the light brown apple moth, Epiphyas postvittana in Australia and New Zealand. Early instars are parasitised and the mature wasp larva emerges from the dying host (3rd or 4th instar) and spin a cocoon next to it. The life cycle is completed in about 2 months and there are normally 2-3 generations per year.
