Dinocampus coccinellae (parasitoid) (Schrank, 1802)

This wasp is a solitary endoparasitoid of coccinellid beetles and widely distributed. Both coccinellid larvae as well as adults are attacked. For example it frequently parasitizes Coccinella septempunctata and more than 40 other lady beetle hosts have been recorded. As a possible biological control agent, it has received attention as a parasitoid of Harmonia axyridis which is often regarded as invasive (e.g. see Dindo et al., 2016).
