Dinarmus basalis (parasitoid) (Rondani, 1877)
This wasp is a solitary ectoparasitoid of bruchid beetle larvae that infest stored legumes like Callosobruchus species (e.g. see Hossain et al., 2015). It is widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions. The parasitoid can be reared and releases in stored cowpea have been studied. Inoculative releases at the beginning of the storage time can suppress the pest population (Sanon et al., 1998).
