This fungus is widely distributed and causes leaf spot, blight and rot diseases on several plants. For example, on ornamental Bellis, the lower leaves become blighted and these and the stem rot. Pycnidia are mostly spherical, dark olivaceous or black and around 150 µm in size. The conidia are unicellular, elliptical and hyaline with an average size of 4-5 x 2½-3 µm.
