Dicladispa armigera (Olivier, 1808) - (rice hispa)
This hedgehog beetle is found in tropical and subtropical parts of Asia. It is an important pest of rice and can cause outbreaks resulting in significant crop losses. The adult beetles are about 5 mm long and feed on rice leaves, while the larvae are leafminers. In some areas, other crops like sugarcane, maize or wheat may also become infested.
