Dermacentor silvarum Olenev, 1931

This tick is found in eastern Asia (Russia, Mongolia, China). It has been reported to transmit human pathogens, such as Rickettsia sibirica, causing North Asian tick typhus or the tick-borne encephalitis virus. In addition, it is regarded as a vector of various other pathogens, including species of Anaplasma, Babesia, Rickettsia, Theileria and Ehrlichia. The hosts are mainly sheep, but also include humans.
