Dermacentor andersoni (Stiles) - (Rocky Mountain wood tick)
The tick bites humans and cattle in north-western North America and is a vector of Rocky Mountain spotted fever and of bovine anaplasmosis, Anaplasma marginale. The development of the tick involves three hosts with larvae feeding on small rodents.
