Curtovirus

This genus of geminiviruses contains species similar to the Beet curly top virus. The viruses cause leaf curl diseases on beet and other crops and are transmitted by leafhoppers. They have twin particles, about 38 nm long and 22 nm wide. The monopartite, circular, single-stranded and positive sensed DNA genome is ~2.8-3 kb long and encodes up to 7 genes.
