Ctenocephalides canis (Curtis) - (dog flea)

The flea is widespread and infests dogs. It is common in some parts of Europe, but in many regions the main flea species found on dogs is actually the cat flea with more than 80% of the fleas on dogs being cat fleas. The main distinguishing feature to the cat flea is that the dog flea has a much shorter head.
