Creontiades signatus (Distant, 1884) - (verde plant bug)

This bug is a significant cotton pest in the southern U.S.A. (e.g. Brewer et al., 2013). It feeds on the developing bolls and small bolls (< 3 cm in diameter) are often shed after the attack. It can also transmit the plant pathogenic bacterium Serratia marcescens which causes (among others) seed and boll rot of cotton (Glover et al., 2020).
