Conogethes punctiferalis (Guenée, 1854) - (yellow peach moth)

This moth is found in tropical parts of Asia and Australia. It is polyphagous, infesting crops like fruit trees (e.g. peach or citrus), vegetables or maize. The red-brown larvae bore into and feed on shoots, stems, fruits, and seeds. Yield losses of up to 25% have been reported. Development goes through five instars and a cocoon is constructed for pupation. There are usually 2 generations per year.
