The bean rugose mosaic virus is found in South and Central America, where it infects Phaseolus beans and a few other plants after mechanical inoculation. Depending on the bean cultivar, the symptoms include severe leaf mosaic, rugosity, blistering, deformation or necrotic lesions. Pods show mottling and deformation.
