Ceratophyllum demersum (weed) L. - (coontail)

This species is a submerged aquatic weed native to tropical parts of the Americas. It can quickly invade new water bodies, reducing the water flow and its oxygen concentration, and can lead to fish mortality. It grows in depths of ½ - 8 m and propagates by seeds and stem fragmentation.
