Cephalonomia (parasitoids) Westwood, 1833

This genus of small wasps is widely distributed and includes gregarious ectoparasitoid of beetle larvae and pupae. Some species are important biological control agents like Cephalonomia stephanoderis, a parasitoid of the coffee berry borer (Hypothenemus hampei) and C. tarsalis which attack larvae of Oryzaephilus beetles in grain stores. Cephalonomia adults are black and have an ant-like appearance.
