Cassava common mosaic virus (CsCMV)

The virus is found in South America and has been also reported from parts of the Pacific. It infects mainly cassava, causing symptoms of leaf mosaic and chlorosis (often limited by the veins). Yield losses can reach 30% (e.g. see Venturini et al. 2017). The virus is transmitted mechanically through planting materials. The particles are around 500 nm long and 15 nm wide.
