Cameraria Chapman, 1902
This genus of small leafminer moths contains around 80 species, including the horse-chestnut leafminer, Cameraria ohridella, which has invaded much of Europe starting in 1980s and caused serious outbreaks. The other species have various host trees like oaks or hickory, but are rarely considered to be pests. The larvae form blotch mines on the upper leaf surfaces.
The adults typically have a wingspan of 5-10 mm. The forewings are orange to reddish brown with white, darkly bordered bands. The genus is further characterized by the morphology of the antennae, labial palps, wing venations and genitalia.
