Caloptilia Hübner, 1825
This genus of small leafminers and leafrollers is widely distributed and contains more than 300 species. A number are important agricultural and forest pests. The larvae are first leafminers and later they roll up a leaf or construct a conical shelter at the leaf margin. The adults typically have a wing-span of 10-15 mm and a body length of 5-8 mm. At rest, they take a typical position with the head raised and the end of the abdomen touching the surface.
