Variations in toxicity of malathion when applied to certain body regions of Schistocerca gregaria (Forsk.)
Bulletin of Entomological Research 57 (4), 651-659
Abstract: The variation in toxicity of 2.5% solutions of tritium-labelled malathion or malaoxon in KEB applied topically or by injection to different body regions of Schistocerca gregaria, was investigated. The results showed that the head was the region most vulnerable to toxic action. The circulatory system played an important part in determining the toxicity of the insecticide by taking it towards or away from the sensitive areas. The rates of absorptions distribution and excretion of the labelled malathion for different applications are given.
