Bryophyllum delagoense (weed) (Ecklon & Zeyher) Schinz - (mother-of-millions, chandelier plant)

This species is an unbranched herb native to Madagascar. It has been introduced as an ornamental into many countries and has become an environmental and agricultural weed in various regions like eastern and southern Africa, Australia or parts of the Americas and the Pacific. It is mainly a problem in open areas like pastures and grassland.

The plant grows to a height of more than 1½ m. The leaves are thick, fleshy and mottled. They often produce small plantlets at their tips. The flowers are formed as dense clusters at the end the stem and are red or pinkish.
