Bipolaris cactivora (Petr.) Alcorn 1983
This fungus is widely distributed and has been reported to infect pitaya (Hylocereus) and other plants from the family Cactaceae. Infected plants develop necrotic lesions, followed by rots.
Hyphae and conidiophores are bown, producing brownish-olivaceous conidia. The latter are short, straight, 30–65 μm long and 2–4-distoseptate. The taxonomic placement of this species is doubtful and the whereabouts of the type culture is unknown (Manamgoda et al., 2014).
