Betaentomopoxvirus (entomopathogens)

The members of this genus of entomopoxviruses are similar to the Amsacta moorei entomopoxvirus. They have ovoid particles and infect insects from various groups. Some have been studied as possible biological control agents of insect pests.

The particles are enveloped and ovoid, about 350×250nm in size. The genome consists of linear, doublestranded DNA with around 225kb.
