Beauveria bassiana (Bals.-Criv.) Vuill. (1912) - (white muscardine)

This fungus is regarded as a very common entomopathogen which infects many species of insects as well as an important biocontrol agent. It is produced commercially by various companies.

Molecular studies have shown that the species is actually a complex of related species, see Rehner et al., 2011.
