Batocera horsfieldi (Hope, 1839) - (white-striped longhorn beetle)

This long-horned beetle is found in eastern Asia and is a polyphagous wood-boring pest. For example, it attacks poplar trees. Other forest and nut trees also serve as host. The adults feed on the branches of various plants like Rosa multiflora, while the larvae breed in the trunks of the host tree. Control is difficult due to the cryptic life of the damaging larvae.
