Bathyplectes curculionis (parasitoid) (Thomson, 1887)
This wasp is a solitary larval endoparasitoid of the alfalfa weevil (Hypera postica) which has been introduced from Europe into North America. It is commercially available. The cocoons of this species differ from those of B. anurus by having a broad white (not raised) middle band and do not jump if disturbed.
